Scammers, Scoundrels, and Seniors: Why Protecting Vulnerable Elders Is Vital for Good Estate Planning (Video)

Updated: May 22

There are many scammers and scoundrels out there who, unfortunately, prey on vulnerable seniors. These people don't care who they displace nor what legacies they are gutting from people who spent their whole lives building for their future and that of their loved ones. Its imperative to keep a few things in mind when you and/or your family members are in care of a vulnerable senior:

  • Know who they are in contact with and who is coming into their home.

  • Take time to regularly review documents to assure that everything is correctly in place.

  • Coordinate with other family members and caretakers to ensure everyone is aware of the ins and outs of the seniors' visitors and document sharing.
